Position Overview

JEDA is seeking a technically proficient Field Technician / IT Field Engineer to support enterprise IT infrastructure deployments across commercial, data center, and customer environments. This role provides on-site smart hands and remote hands services, supporting server, network, and structured cabling infrastructure.

This is a full-time position ideal for candidates with strong hands-on technical skills who want long-term growth, technical advancement, and exposure to enterprise-scale IT environments. JEDA will consider both senior-level candidates and technically capable individuals with foundational IT knowledge who are motivated to grow within the organization.

Primary Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and troubleshoot enterprise IT hardware and CPE devices
• Perform rack-and-stack operations for servers, switches, routers, and related infrastructure
• Install, label, test, and document structured cabling (copper and fiber)
• Execute network patching and port mapping per engineering cut sheets and diagrams
• Troubleshoot physical (Layer 1) and basic network (Layer 2) connectivity issues
• Support data center operations including equipment moves, adds, and changes (MACs)
• Utilize command-line interfaces (CLI) for diagnostics, validation, and hardware testing
• Follow change management, safety, and site access procedures
• Travel to customer sites locally and nationally as required

Technical Requirements

• Ability to lift and handle equipment up to 50 lbs
• Ability to safely use ladders and work in elevated spaces
• Willingness to travel locally and nationally
• Valid U.S. driver's license and reliable transportation
• Must be a U.S. citizen and able to provide proof of citizenship

Technical Qualifications (Preferred)

• Enterprise server and network hardware experience
• Structured cabling installation, termination, labeling, and certification
• Rack elevation planning and equipment mounting
• Hardware diagnostics and break/fix support
• Command-line experience (Linux, network devices, or hardware consoles)
• Data center experience (hot/cold aisle, raised floor, cage deployments)
