Peer Support Worker
Have you lived it, learned from it, and want to help others find their way forward? We're looking for Peer Support Workers who use their lived experience with mental health services to support adults on their recovery journey. This role is all about connection, empowerment, and helping people build meaningful, independent lives in the community.
What You'll DoAs a Peer Support Worker, you'll provide recovery-focused, person-centered support by walking alongside individuals as they build skills, confidence, and hope.
You will:
Share lived experience thoughtfully to inspire and support recovery
Help individuals set goals, overcome challenges, and strengthen coping skills
Support participants in advocating for themselves and their treatment needs
Facilitate recovery-focused group activities
Assist with Person-Centered Plans and Wellness Recovery Action Plans (WRAP)
Help identify triggers, manage symptoms, and reduce hospitalization risk
Provide community-based support that promotes independence and stability
Maintain timely, accurate documentation and billing records
Complete schedules within 24 hours and progress notes within 72 hours
Participate in supervision, trainings, and team meetings
Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times
Meet a billable productivity expectation of 24 hours per week
Who We're Looking For
You might be a great fit if you:
Self-identify as a current or former recipient of mental health services
Are at least 18 years old
Have a high school diploma or equivalent
Are certified (or willing to become certified) as a Peer Support Worker in Kansas
Communicate clearly and compassionately—listening matters here
Are dependable, organized, and comfortable managing your own schedule
Can maintain healthy professional boundaries
Have basic computer and documentation skills
Hold a valid Kansas driver's license, are insurable, and can transport clients as needed
Can pass required background, KBI, and registry screenings
