Position: RN Unit Manager
Location: Kearny, New Jersey
Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM or 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Salary: $95,000 – $105,000 annually
Artis Care Rehab and Nursing Center is seeking an experienced and motivated RN Unit Manager to join our nursing leadership team. This role is essential in maintaining high standards of resident care, staff supervision, and regulatory compliance within a skilled nursing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Director of Nursing (DON) and Associate Director of Nursing (ADON) in planning, organizing, implementing, and overseeing daily nursing operations in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Supervise nursing staff to ensure adherence to job responsibilities, facility policies, and clinical standards
- Participate in state and federal surveys and inspections
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and ongoing review of resident care plans
- Conduct annual performance evaluations for LPNs and CNAs
- Implement progressive disciplinary actions, including verbal and written counseling, up to and including termination
- Participate in hiring, probationary, and disciplinary decisions
- Communicate effectively with physicians, residents, families, and nursing leadership regarding resident care concerns
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels on all shifts to maintain quality care
- Conduct daily nursing rounds and report findings to the DON
- Address staff complaints and grievances and escalate as appropriate
- Greet and orient newly admitted residents and escort them to their rooms as needed
- Attend daily morning reports
- Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives and conduct audits
- Nursing home experience required
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a hospital, nursing home, or related healthcare setting
- At least 6 months of rehabilitative and restorative nursing experience
- Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Strong knowledge of nursing practices, medical procedures, and long-term care regulations
- Ability to make independent clinical and operational decisions
- Proven leadership and team-building skills
- Strong organizational and communication abilities
- Willingness to adopt best practices and innovative care approaches
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Experience with PointClickCare (PCC) preferred
