PURPOSE AND KEY RESULTS OF THE POSITION

The Controller will be an important contributor to the financial operations of our growing company. As Controller, you will be a senior-level manager responsible for overseeing a company's financial reporting, accounting operations, and regulatory compliance. Responsible for managing all aspects of accounting operations for all the company's trailer operations including payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger and financial statement preparation. Ensure all financial statements are accurate and that all accounting processes are efficient and adhere to relevant standards, such as GAAP.

Must be a self-starter and work with limited direction while demonstrating ownership of areas of responsibility and driving solutions and alternatives in a dynamic environment. The position requires the ability to understand the big picture while being detail oriented.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department.
  • Manage, coordinate, and assist the team in monthly and year-end accounting close activities for all entities. Perform journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end closing activities.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reasonableness of financial statements.
  • Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to management for decision-making purposes.
  • Monitor and forecast cash flow to ensure sufficient funds are available for operations.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Interpret financial reports and communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with auditors during annual audits.
  • Ensure a strong accounting and operational control environment to safeguard assets, ensure financial statement accuracy and improve operations.
  • Oversee general ledger, fixed assets, accounts receivable, accounts payable, etc.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial reports/statements.
  • Provide daily guidance to the team through coaching and mentoring.
  • Review and enhance reconciliations and related accounting schedules.
  • Lead the day-to-day financial activities, including timely filing and compliance of sales/use taxes, property tax, excise tax, and other corporate compliance matters.
  • A firm understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software such as Sage 100 or NetSuite.
  • Implement best practices and ensure compliance with US GAAP, and policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with CFO to deliver relevant and timely reporting of financial data analytics, including monthly flash report, key financial metrics, and actual spending against budgets/outlook.
  • Budget and forecasting; Oversee the budget process by setting schedules, consolidating financial data, analyzing variances, and taking corrective actions.
  • Support the implementation of internal control processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY

  • 7+ years of related experience
  • Manufacturing industry experience preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in US GAAP
  • Strong interpersonal, written and communication skills
  • Impeccable analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask, work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy
  • Team builder, and good written and verbal communication skills
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Proficient with Sage 100 or similar accounting software.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • At least 7+ years of work-related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent degree
  • CPA/MBA preferred but not required.

Work area is an office environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR PERFORMING ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Speaking/Hearing: Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and supervisors.

Vision: Ability to effectively visualize the computer screen, read printed materials and inspect equipment.

Lifting/Carrying: Ability to lift, push and pull up to 25 lbs. for a short period of time and distance.

Stooping/Kneeling: Ability to stoop/kneel when required.

Reaching/Handling: Ability to reach/handle product when required. Ability to climb stairs and ladders, bend, and twist.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $120, $140,000.00 per year
