This position would be split shift between 2nd & 3rd to oversee both teams, but there is some flexibility with start time.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Quality Assurance Supervisor at Jackson's Food Company provides leadership and oversight to ensure daily compliance with quality standards, food safety regulations, and company policies. This role is responsible for supervising quality assurance activities on the production floor, guiding Quality Technicians, and ensuring effective execution of HACCP, GMP, and food safety programs. The Supervisor plays a key role in identifying and resolving quality issues, approving documentation, managing product disposition, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. In addition, this position partners closely with cross-functional teams to support training, SOP development, audits, and corrective action programs. Success in this role requires strong leadership, sound judgment, adaptability in a fast-paced environment, and consistent demonstration of Jackson's core values.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The following statements reflect the general details necessary to describe the major functions of this position and are not intended to be a detailed description of all the work/functions that may be required. Other duties may be assigned. Individual will work a varied schedule based on client needs.
Supervise and coordinate daily quality testing activities and lead food safety initiatives to ensure compliance with company, regulatory, and customer requirements.
- Review, approve, and maintain quality and food safety records, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal standards, external audits, and certification requirements. Oversee proper digitization and organization of records.
- Identify quality and food safety deviations, direct immediate corrective actions, and verify effectiveness to ensure the production of safe, high-quality products.
- Escalate complex or recurring quality issues to the quality management team and participate in root cause analysis and long-term corrective and preventive action (CAPA) development.
- Oversee the disposition of raw materials and finished products (Hold/Release/Quarantine), ensuring proper documentation and accurate tracking within the electronic Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Lead and conduct training for production and quality staff on food safety, GMPs, HACCP, and quality compliance, ensuring understanding and consistent application across operations.
- Support and contribute to the development, revision, and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and ensure effective training and adherence by production personnel.
- Oversee evaluations, product approvals, and shelf-life studies to maintain and improve product quality standards.
- Plan, conduct, and oversee internal audits aligned with production and sanitation schedules to verify compliance with established programs and regulatory requirements.
- Champion Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) throughout the facility, fostering a culture of accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure service requests and quality-related issues are documented and addressed promptly to minimize operational impact.
- Act as a key communication link between quality, operations, and management by proactively identifying and communicating risks, trends, and improvement opportunities.
- Model and reinforce Jackson's core values through leadership behaviors, decision-making, and team interactions.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor's degree in food science, biology, chemistry, or a related field preferred
Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control within food, beverage, or dietary supplement manufacturing
Prior leadership, lead, or supervisory experience strongly preferred
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
