As a Shipping Clerk, you will be essential in ensuring that all outbound shipments are accurate, timely, and properly documented. Your duties will include preparing shipping labels, coordinating with carriers, loading outgoing freight, and maintaining shipping records. You will work closely with the logistics team to streamline the shipping process and ensure customer satisfaction. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills. A commitment to workplace safety is paramount, and you will be expected to adhere to all safety guidelines, including the proper use of PPE, and maintain a secure work environment. The position involves tasks that may require moderate lifting. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and print shipping labels and documentation.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Load outgoing shipments onto trucks and ensure proper securing.
- Verify outgoing orders for accuracy before shipment.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and logs.
- Communicate with warehouse staff and other departments regarding shipping status.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and use appropriate PPE.
- Assist with inventory management and other warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in a shipping, receiving, or logistics role is preferred.
- Familiarity with shipping software and carrier portals.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to perform tasks involving moderate lifting (up to 50 lbs).
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety practices and the use of PPE.
- Good communication skills.
