Are you a certified and experienced Forklift Operator seeking a new challenge in Richmond, Virginia? Our expanding logistics facility has an immediate opening for a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator. You will be essential in managing the movement of goods within our warehouse, ensuring efficient and safe operations. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate various types of forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move, stack, and retrieve materials.
- Load and unload trailers and containers efficiently and securely.
- Transport inventory to and from designated storage areas and production lines.
- Conduct daily pre-operation checks on forklift equipment and report any maintenance needs promptly.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including cycle counts and put-away operations.
- Follow all warehouse safety rules and regulations, including adherence to traffic flow patterns.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring clear pathways.
- Work collaboratively with warehouse associates, supervisors, and shipping/receiving personnel.
- Ensure all loads are properly secured before movement.
- Wear all mandated PPE, including safety vests, gloves, and steel-toed footwear.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification and proven experience (minimum 2 years preferred).
- Experience operating forklifts in a fast-paced warehouse or logistics environment.
- Demonstrated ability to safely maneuver equipment and handle loads.
- Physical capability to perform tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
