We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler to join our bustling logistics hub in Houston, Texas. This role is instrumental in maintaining the efficient flow of materials throughout our warehouse. You will be responsible for receiving, storing, picking, and preparing materials for shipment. Responsibilities:
- Receive and inspect incoming materials, ensuring accuracy against documentation.
- Store materials in designated areas, maintaining organized inventory systems.
- Pick materials for orders accurately and efficiently.
- Prepare materials for shipment, including packaging and labeling.
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and reach trucks (certification may be required).
- Conduct regular inventory counts and participate in cycle counting efforts.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with safety regulations.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
- Wear required PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse/logistics role is preferred.
- Proven ability to operate various types of material handling equipment.
- Must be able to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 60 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling materials.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all safety guidelines.
