We're hiring a Shipping & Receiving Associate in Milwaukee, Wisconsin! Join our fast-paced logistics team where you'll be a key player in managing the inbound and outbound flow of goods. This role requires a blend of organizational skills, physical capability, and a strong commitment to accuracy. You will be responsible for receiving shipments, verifying contents, stocking inventory, preparing orders for dispatch, and coordinating with carriers. Safety is our top priority, and we expect all associates to strictly follow safety protocols, including the appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming shipments, accurately checking contents against purchase orders and bills of lading.
- Inspect received goods for damage or discrepancies.
- Unpack, sort, and stock merchandise in designated warehouse locations efficiently.
- Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, and labeling orders accurately.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Maintain organized records of all incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks safely.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in both receiving and shipping areas.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Conduct inventory checks and assist with cycle counting as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to operate warehouse equipment safely (e.g., forklift certification is a plus).
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Understanding of logistics principles and warehouse management.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the correct use of PPE.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Working Conditions:
This role is performed in a warehouse setting with varying environmental conditions. The position requires continuous physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting. Adherence to all safety regulations, including the mandatory use of provided PPE, is critical for this role.
