We are hiring a skilled Material Handler for our Seattle, Washington facility. This position plays a critical role in the efficient movement and organization of materials within our warehouse. You will be responsible for operating various types of equipment, loading and unloading shipments, and ensuring materials are properly stored and accessible. The ideal candidate possesses strong mechanical aptitude, a commitment to Safety, and experience in a logistics environment. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks and containers, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Organize and store materials in an orderly and accessible manner.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on material handling equipment.
- Assist with inventory management, including tracking and record-keeping.
- Ensure compliance with all company Safety policies and regulations, including the use of PPE.
- Identify and report any damaged materials or equipment malfunctions.
- Support other warehouse operations as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role.
- Valid forklift operator certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to operate various types of lifting and moving equipment.
- Physical ability to perform tasks requiring frequent bending, stooping, and Lifting of up to 60 pounds.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Familiarity with logistics and supply chain processes is a plus.
