Job Overview
To protect customers’ property, people and assets by providing security services in accordance with the site’s published Assignment Instructions (AI’s) and any subsequent changes.
Deliver results that meet or exceed the Key Performance Indicators / Service Level Agreement for the customer, providing a service that aids in the retention of the contract.
Undertake additional training to ensure continuous self‑development.
Main Responsibilities
Manage security and emergency incidents and ensure the correct operation of security systems and procedures.
Lead in implementing customer corporate policies and Codes of Practice.
Take ownership of the security operation for the customer and constantly assess risk.
Manage staff on site to maintain service delivery to the highest agreed standard.
Inspect all administrative, health and safety and quality procedures and endorse them.
Provide assistance to staff with welfare requirements and vetting process to ensure compliance with BS7858.
Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date assignment instructions and ensure all officers understand and comply.
Support the organisation as required by the Operations Manager.
Develop and manage security related projects and initiatives in collaboration with key customer management.
Maintain professional conduct in difficult situations and following all legal, health and safety obligations.
Keep detailed notes of all disciplinary or capability actions taken against employees.
Carry out assigned tasks as defined within the published Assignment Instructions (AI’s).
Comply with industry and statutory legislation, including holding a valid SIA Security Licence and CCTV PSS SIA Licence.
Renew licences and attend all required competency training.
Promote and foster a culture of continuous improvement and high standards of personal and professional conduct.
Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, providing timely information on site activities, ongoing issues and future development opportunities.
Training & Development
Monitor security officer performance and conduct annual appraisals in line with company policy.
Liaise with the security manager / operations manager to ensure all contractual training requirements are met and certificates are renewed on time.
Ensure the team is constantly trained to meet leading industry practices.
Person Specification
High level of integrity, trustworthy and reliable.
Hold a SIA Security Licence.
Self‑motivated, initiative‑driven and effective decision maker.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Team leadership skills with the ability to motivate and engage staff.
Ability to manage stressful situations and work under pressure.
Proficient in written and oral communication skills and IT literate.
Strong knowledge of Health and Safety at Work Act, relevant criminal, civil law and police and criminal evidence.
Ability to work within established procedures and innovate for continuous improvement.
Capability to manage resources in line with targets.
Ability to respond to and control emergency situations.
Supervisory/ leadership skills with the ability to influence, motivate and liaise with others.
