• The Lead DevOps Linux engineer will lead a small DevOps team to upgrade and run high quality and non-impactful deployments which power Samsung.com. We do continuous integration/deployment to dev/test environments and multiple production releases per day. This is a highly technical position that requires a broad set of technical skills that includes Linux administration and AWS database upgrade and deployment technologies, monitoring and scripting to networking and infrastructure. Additionally, we pride ourselves on site availability and speed and flexibility to accommodate business requirements.

• Work directly with our clients as a Lead AWS Cloud DevOps Engineer, senior Linux admin and database migration expert
• Maintain security in existing AWS accounts, infrastructure and resources based on Samsung AWS Cloud corporate security standards and AWS security best practices
• Lead and oversee the migration and upgrade of live databases in AWS using industry standard as well as proprietary methodologies
• Develop and maintain secure and reliable cloud infrastructure (OS patch, backup, monitoring, secure logging, and Linux user account creation)
• Support or modify underlying AWS infrastructure and services
• Automate cloud deployments, as well as build CI/CD pipeline to support cloud based workloads
• Provide experienced knowledge and expertise in Ubuntu Linux administration, Ansible, Cloud native automation tools, Cockroach DB, PostgreSQL and ElasticSearch
• Develop and maintain technical documentation
• Troubleshoot technical issues in Linux and database environments
• Experience in live database upgrades and migrations in AWS
• Ubuntu operating system upgrade from 16 to 22
• Elastic search software upgrade
• CockroachDB software upgrade
• Jenkins software upgrade
• Monitoring (sensu, grafana) upgrade
• Ubuntu operating system upgrade experience
• Linux systems administration
• Strong networking tcp/ip
• Automated upgrades using Ansible or other automation technology
• Experience creating upgrade plans including application validation.

• Master's/Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field, and two years of experience in software/systems or related.
• 8+ years overall industry experience.
• Experience leading DevOps teams in supporting AWS cloud upgrades, database migrations and administration
• Work experience must include:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience. You have DevOps/Automation experience on Amazon AWS
• Experience with AWS EC2 AMI's and EBS volume migration
• Cloud: Amazon AWS, AWS Marketplace, PaaS, IaaS, SaaS
• Platforms and tools: Cockroach DB, PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, Python, Bash and other scripting languages
• DevOps/Automation: Terraform, OpsWorks, CloudFormation, Ansible, Chef, Puppet
• Experience with onsite to cloud migration assessment and implementation
• Worked and hands-on experience in cloud migration and in a multi-cloud environment
• Expertise with data and/or DB migrations running in the AWS cloud environment
• Knowledge on cloud computing technology (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Experience with networking, compute infrastructure such as servers, databases, firewalls and load balancers
• Knowledge of system monitoring, capacity planning and understand architecture principles across infrastructure platform
• Hands-on experience with administration on variety of Linux/Windows systems
• Hands-on experience with cluster configuration (Windows, Linux)
• Experience with information security best practices and procedures
• Cloud certifications are required; Cloud Solutions Architect-Associate level or above and AWS Specialty certifications - AWS Database Specialty certification a plus
• Hands-on experience with Jira/Confluence
• Excellent Lead DevOps engineer leadership skills
