The Project Engineer works with the Project Manager, assisting with the management of technical submissions, project cost management, schedule planning and implementation and coordination of trade contractor performance in accordance with all procedures and programs.
This role requires that the Project Engineer work in a team environment under the supervision of the Project Manager. In this role, the Project Engineer establishes full awareness of project goals, critical interfaces and resource management while being accountable for all technical and project controls management.
Responsibilities:
- Reviews and interprets drawings, specifications and technical information for the Project's Construction Management Team.
- Identifies long lead items, critical Contractor shop drawings and submissions, and potential coordination issues through detailed review of the Construction documents.
- Works closely with the project team to ensure Contractor means and methods and proposed procedures are acceptable to ensure overall project schedule and quality.

- Communicates commercial and technical directions to field superintendents, ensuring that constant communication is in place between project controls and operations personnel.
- Prepares field design change requisitions as required; generates requests for information (RFI). Reviews all shop drawings, design drawings, calculations and submitted technical data for accuracy and conformance drawings and specifications.
- Works with the Construction Management Team to ensure that all Contracts are implemented in accordance with agreed scopes and the Terms and Conditions of all Drawings, Specifications and Exhibits.
- Supports the Project Manager in negotiating change orders and extra work.
- Updates weekly and monthly schedule updates via Primavera and Microsoft Project, reviewing general logic and resources in support of the Assistant Project Manager.
- Reviews, maintains and updates control logs and performance dashboards for weekly and monthly reporting, including Quality Control Non-Compliances, Submittal Logs and Change Order Logs.
- Subscribes to the Company culture - to maintain a safe and orderly workplace with a focus on delivering projects on schedule at high-quality.
- Maintains professional relationships with the Client and Client satisfaction, ensuring that all project deliverables and documentation are conveyed with diligence, accuracy, and professionalism.
Travel Requirements:
- Requires daily travel/commute to work sites. Location of job assignment is subject to change.
Qualifications
- B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of construction management experience in operations and/or engineering required
- Continuing Education, Certifications or Advanced Degrees in construction are highly desirable
- OSHA 30 hour required
- We encourage and support you in obtaining DBIA, CCM, PMI, PMP, or PE certifications.
