Broders' Pasta Bar has been serving house made and quality imported pastas and risottos since 1982, focusing both on Italian regional traditions as well as seasonal and local ingredients.

The Pasta Bar team is looking for an experienced and professional General Manager to oversee restaurant and beverage operations. This role will manage daily operations, lead staff through hiring and training, managing budgets and inventory, all while upholding Broders Vision for Hospitality. The GM will foster a team and environment that allows for growth, collaboration and the practices of shared leadership.

Areas of Responsibility:

Hospitality & Operations

  • Oversee daily service operations to ensure guests have a consistent and welcoming experience.
  • Ability to open & close the restaurant with the correct aesthetics including reporting of sales, comps, discounts and daily service log.
  • Ensure all FOH positions have defined roles, responsibilities and a training plan.
  • Communication with BOH Leadership and kitchen team to support service.
  • Support team in daily restaurant operations and service, with the ability to jump into any FOH role.
  • Create and manage the FOH staff schedule taking into consideration restaurant cycles, time off requests and external community events.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable health, safety, food handling, and hygiene codes and standards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Leadership

  • Cultivate, follow and lead the FOH team into understanding the Broders' Vision for Hospitality, ensuring that everyone has the tools and context to succeed as a unified team.
  • Foster success with the FOH management team through collaborative language, focusing on shared goals, clear roles, trust and empowerment.
  • Collaborate with Operations and HR on recruiting, onboarding, training, growth and staff development of team members.
  • Lead pre-shift meetings, communicating information on daily specials, changes or other pertinent information.
  • Actively engage with team – creating an inclusive, trust-led workplace.
  • Ability to hold staff accountable to support shared standards, performance and growth.
  • Coordinate quarterly educational trainings surrounding hospitality, wine & beer.
  • Administer disciplinary actions when necessary, including warnings, retraining and terminations in a manner and delivery that is professional and courteous.

Budget & Inventory

  • Accurate and timely inventory are taken at the end of each period.
  • GM contributes to financial projections and decision making.
  • Scheduling reflects operational needs and budgetary outline.
  • Fluency in Compeat, Toast reporting, Sling, Resy.

Beverage Program

  • Execute wine and beverage program including wine education, ordering and inventory.
  • Curate wine list that follows Broders' vision for the Pasta Bar Wine Program.
  • Source beer that emphasizes our local craft beer community.
  • Maintain inventory of non-alcoholic drinks that support service.
  • Create educational opportunities for all staff.
  • Maintain a financially stable program.

Schedule Expectations:

As a full-time, salaried Floor Manager, this role is exempt from overtime pay and requires flexibility to support business demands. The work schedule is variable, with a typical workweek average of 45 hours, and includes a mix of opening, mid-day, and closing shifts. Consistent evening and weekend availability is essential to support our seven-day-a-week operations.

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent leadership and team-building skills.
  • Manage in an unbiased, fair manner and lead by example.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and solve problems.
  • 7+ years' experience in the fine dining restaurant industry preferred.
  • Weekend availability required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods standing and walking on hard surfaces.
  • Extensive bending, grasping, reaching and manipulating objects.
  • Must be able to access and navigate all areas of store.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70, $80,000.00 per year
