Job Summary
The Project Manager oversees the organization, planning, and execution of commercial construction projects involving doors, frames, and hardware. This role is also responsible for fostering and maintaining strong, positive relationships with customers throughout the project lifecycle.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Leads cross-departmental teams to deliver assigned projects on schedule, within specifications, and with a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Defines project tasks and appropriately assigns responsibilities.
  • Performs cost analyses and prepares accurate project cost estimates.
  • Develops and manages project budgets based on established estimates.
  • Conducts risk assessments, reports identified risks to management, and recommends mitigation strategies—including project termination when warranted.
  • Responds to questions, concerns, and complaints throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Serves as the primary liaison between the company, customers, and vendors.
  • Collaborates with sales and marketing teams to provide necessary training and information to support the promotion and sale of new projects, programs, and systems.
  • Ensures adherence to all federal, state, local, industry, contractual, and company standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Prepares detailed submittals and shop drawings using DFH software, specifically Comsense utilized by IOS.
  • Manages project revisions and change orders, and attends job site meetings as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the Door, Frame, and Hardware industry.
  • Bachelor's or technical degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • DHI certifications are an advantage.
  • Experience using Comsense is beneficial.
  • Strong knowledge of door hardware, hollow metal, wood doors, STC, FSC, and LEED requirements.
  • Understanding of building codes related to door, frame, and hardware applications, including fire codes, windstorm, ADA, life safety, and other codes relevant to commercial construction.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe, with familiarity in CAD.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and specification documents.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrates strong customer relationship skills; friendly, respectful, and positive.
  • Possesses solid analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Effective team player.
  • Able to sit for extended periods while working at a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds as needed.
