About the Role
The Quality Superivsor leads the quality team ensuring all electronic assemblies meet specs by managing inspections (incoming, in-process, final), driving continuous improvement, resolving quality issues (nonconformances), training staff, maintaining records, and collaborating with engineering for root cause analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily quality operations to ensure compliance with ISO/AS standards.
- Follow the stop work authority if non-conforming product is found in production.
- Provide daily WIP numbers for production meetings.
- Attend production and quality meetings via Teams and in person.
- Monitor and manage the ERP/MRP system to prioritize the workflow and shop floor clockings.
- Manage the resources needed in the quality inspection team.
- Perform various visual inspections on the floor if needed.
- Lead CI initiatives (like 5S, waste reduction) to boost first-pass yield, throughput, and efficiency.
- Work with QA/Engineering to investigate nonconformances, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
- Ensure the First Article Inspection (FAI AS9100) process is being followed when required.
- Review and approve team timecards, manage overtime and shift coverage to meet deadlines.
- Manage the quality inspection training program for new and existing employees.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Maintain and present the quality DMS (Daily Management Board).
- Support multiple shifts as needed.
- Support ISO/AS audits as needed.
- Experience with ISO 9001, IPC 600, IPC 610, and J-STD preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Ability to understand and determine product quality.
- Ability to sit at a table/ desk for extended periods of time
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Experience with ISO 9001, IPC 600, IPC 610, and J-STD preferred.
- Familiar with company and industry quality standards and processes.
- Familiar with calibration and EDS standards preferred.
- Climate-controlled electronics manufacturing services production floor.
- Must be able to sit for extended periods and lift up to 25lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.
