About the Role

Obsidian Solutions is expanding our Business Development bench to recruit
Operating Partners (OPs)
—contractors and construction businesses—who purchase
OS HQ (Contractor HeadQuarters)
: our back-office operations service designed to help contractors scale with systems, estimating support, admin execution, and operational infrastructure.

This is a
commission-only independent contractor (1099)
position with
collections-based payouts
and
residual commissions
tied to OPs you source and close.

Compensation (Uncapped; Collections-Based)

$35K - $700K + per year.

This is the best source to visualize compensation:

You earn in two ways:

1) $1,000 per Signed HQ Client

Earned only when an OP becomes a
Signed HQ Client
, meaning:

  • The OP executes the OS HQ agreement
    and
  • Company receives
    cleared funds
    for the OP's
    Kickoff Invoice
  • (
    A signature alone does not qualify.
    )

Chargebacks, reversals, cancellations, or failed fraud checks may result in reversal/setoff.

2) Revenue Share Commission (Residual Model)

  • Year 1:
    Earn
    10% of the Company Revenue Share Fee actually collected
    from your attributable OPs (paid monthly after reconciliation).
  • After Year 1:
    Earn
    2% of the Company Revenue Share Fee actually collected
    from those OPs for the
    life of the OP relationship
    , subject to the agreement's compliance/termination terms.
  • No caps.
    Earnings scale with OP production and retention—paid only on amounts actually collected by the Company.

What You'll Do (Core Responsibilities)

  • Prospect & Source OPs:
    Identify and contact qualified contractors/construction businesses.
  • Set Qualified Meetings:
    Book calls with decision-makers (owners/ops leads).
  • Sell OS HQ Accurately:
    Use
    Company-approved messaging/materials only
    .
  • Drive Close + Onboarding:
    Facilitate agreement execution, intake, and kickoff completion.
  • Warm Handoff:
    Coordinate transition to operations for smooth onboarding.
  • CRM Discipline:
    Maintain accurate, timely pipeline notes and reporting.

Compliance & Conduct (Non-Negotiables)

You must operate professionally and protect Obsidian's reputation. You may not:

  • Promise outcomes (revenue, approvals, timelines, leads, "exclusive territories," etc.)
  • Misrepresent services, pricing, capabilities, staffing, or timelines
  • Use spam, unlawful scraping, deceptive ads, fake reviews, or impersonation
  • Record calls without lawful consent
  • Collect/store sensitive data outside Company-approved systems
  • Encourage illegal conduct (rebating, deductible waivers, sham invoicing, etc.)

Attribution (How You Get Credit)

An OP is attributable to you only if:

  • You are the documented source in the CRM
    before
    the OP is in the active pipeline, and
  • The OP signs within
    120 days
    of your first documented outreach, and
  • Company confirms attribution in overlap situations.

Pre-existing pipeline leads, inbound marketing leads, and OPs sourced by others are generally excluded unless confirmed in writing.

Required Skills / Abilities

  • Strong outbound sales and relationship-building ability (B2B)
  • Comfort operating independently with high accountability
  • Tight follow-up habits and CRM organization
  • Clear written/verbal communication (phone + text + email)
  • Ability to sell operational value (systems, estimating/admin leverage), not hype

Preferred Background

  • Construction/restoration/mitigation/roofing/home services sales
  • Experience selling recurring services, retainers, or revenue-share models
  • Experience selling to owners/operators (not just corporate procurement)
