Cloud Architect

The Azure Cloud Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing secure, scalable, and resilient cloud solutions within Microsoft Azure. This role serves as a strategic technical leader—bridging infrastructure, security, and application development—to ensure the organization's cloud environment aligns with business goals, performance expectations, and compliance standards.

• Design and implement cloud infrastructure aligned with Azure best practices for scalability, performance, and cost efficiency.
• Develop end-to-end architecture solutions that integrate compute, storage, networking, and security services.
• Define and document cloud reference architectures, governance frameworks, and automation strategies.
• Support hybrid environments, integrating on-premises data centers with Azure IaaS and PaaS solutions.

• Implement cloud security controls, including identity management (Azure AD), encryption, key vault, and network segmentation.
• Collaborate with Information Security teams to ensure compliance with standards such as SOC 2, HIPAA, and ISO 27001.
• Develop and maintain Azure policies and guardrails for workload protection, data privacy, and regulatory compliance.

• Lead automation efforts using Azure DevOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with ARM/Bicep/Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Manage cost optimization, monitoring, and operational excellence across Azure environments.
• Implement disaster recovery (DR) and high availability (HA) strategies leveraging Azure Site Recovery, Backup, and Availability Zones.

• Partner with developers, infrastructure, and cybersecurity teams to deliver integrated cloud solutions.
• Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for cloud modernization and migration initiatives.
• Provide architectural guidance, mentoring, and technical leadership across IT and engineering teams.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master's preferred).
• 7+ years of experience in infrastructure or cloud architecture, with at least 3 years focused on Microsoft Azure.
• Deep understanding of Azure services (Compute, Networking, Storage, Security, Monitoring).
• Expertise in automation, scripting, and Infrastructure as Code (PowerShell, Bicep, Terraform).
• Strong background in hybrid connectivity (ExpressRoute, VPN, AD Connect).
• Experience with Azure DevOps, ARM templates, and monitoring tools (Log Analytics, Sentinel, App Insights).

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305 or successor certification).
• Experience with multi-cloud or migration from on-premises to Azure.
• Familiarity with containerization (AKS, Docker) and microservices architectures.
• Proven track record in cloud cost governance and FinOps.

• Excellent communication and presentation abilities for both technical and executive audiences.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead through influence and work cross-functionally in a dynamic enterprise environment.
