Under supervision of Warehouse Manager, completes the day-to-day operational functions that assist and support the manufacturing of graphite saw cuts.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Set up, adjust and operate equipment including horizontal band saws and forklifts.
- Read job specifications, including blueprints, to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
- Cut material to job specifications and ensure product meets the company and customer's quality standard.
- Load & unload graphite material on a manual band saws.
- Verify material against job traveler by sight and measurement.
- Assist with put away of incoming material.
- Measure work piece dimensions using gauges, tape measure, micrometers and calipers.
- Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to Manager or Lead.
- Modify and process production orders in P21 software after completion of each job.
- Monitor incoming orders via the printer and the saw cut portal in P21 software. Follow up with Customer Service Department on jobs with issues and/or extension of delivery dates.
- Adjust material in/out of system when applicable for completion of production orders.
- Troubleshoot inventory discrepancies, material shortages and communication of customer requirements in P21 software.
- Use wireless scanner to move product from location to location.
- Complete cycle counts within the saw room to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Maintains saw room and equipment daily checklists.
- Provides other areas support as needed.
- Participates in team meetings.
- Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment and operate within OSHA/MIOSHA guidelines.
- Inspect warehouse and manufacturing equipment to ensure it is functioning properly and is in good condition.
- Operate forklift/heavy machinery, material handling equipment and packaging equipment.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Skills and Specifications
- Ability to take orders, meet targets and work efficiently under a supervising authority.
- Strong attention to detail, self-starter, continuous improvement mindset and ability to work independently.
- Must possess strong communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of using a PC (Microsoft Outlook, primarily).
- Ability to work in a physically demanding warehouse environment – must be able to walk, stand, kneel, squat, stoop, bend, lift and move up to 70 lbs. unassisted for an extended period.
Requirements
- Scheduled to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm and overtime as needed.
- Must be able to accommodate a flexible schedule, including overtime, weekends and holidays, sometimes on short notice.
- Ability to properly utilize gauges, tape measure, micrometers and calipers.
- Ability to follow established work schedule and procedures.
- Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities with a "can do" attitude.
- Work cooperatively in a team environment.
- Ensure effective intra and inter-department communication through checking e-mail daily.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Timely and regular attendance.
- Required to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen, physical, criminal background check and Forklift Operator course and exam.
- High School diploma or G.E.D. required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $ $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
