With more than 25,000 acres of parkland, nine Recenters, eight golf courses, three lakefront parks, and more, FCPA is an exciting organization to be a part of and there are many opportunities for staff to make a difference at every level.Under general supervision, operates special truck-mounted equipment or light motorized equipment in a variety of construction and/or maintenance work and performs related work as required. The incumbent is primarily responsible for operating equipment, including but not limited to: a tractor/bucket loader with attachments, skid loader with attachments, mowers, and other grounds maintenance equipment. In addition to equipment operation, the position is required to haul all CDL required truck and trailer combinations with equipment and materials. In addition to working with a crew, this position may be dispatched individually for certain assignments. Completes a variety of tasks associated with mowing and grounds/park maintenance. Completes repairs and maintenance of park facilities, playground equipment, picnic areas, walkways, trails, fencing, signs, and other park amenities. Responsible for the mowing and maintenance of parks, athletic fields and trails. Serves as subject matter expert on safety requirements for equipment operation and maintenance procedures. Uses gas-powered equipment including string trimmer, chain saw, blowers, hedgers, etc. Inspects and drives a truck and trailer, and hauls equipment and material to various job sites. Informs supervisors of conditions requiring special attention. Maintains tools and equipment in good working order. Completes required documentation and daily work reports.Note: Note: Reports each morning to Area 6, 1410 Hunter Mill Road and is dispatched to assigned parks. In addition to hauling and equipment operation, this position is part of the overall labor team. 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday, with overtime required when necessary.
