Mechanic

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in automotive and heavy equipment repair, with a strong background in diagnosing and maintaining various machinery. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse equipment, including farm machinery, industrial equipment, and vehicle systems, ensuring optimal performance and safety. The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent mechanical knowledge, proficiency with hand tools and power tools, and the ability to troubleshoot complex systems using schematics and technical manuals.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a wide range of vehicles and heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, trailers, and industrial machinery.
• Diagnose issues related to transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, air brakes, alignment, and electrical components.
• Conduct repairs involving brake systems, shocks & struts, welding, soldering, tire service, and engine diagnostics (including diesel engines).
• Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems accurately.
• Fabricate parts or modifications as needed using fabrication tools and techniques.
• Operate heavy equipment safely during repair or testing procedures.
• Maintain detailed service records for all repairs performed.
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
• Assist in assembly or disassembly of machinery for repair or maintenance purposes.

Requirements

• Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in automotive repair and heavy equipment maintenance.
• Dealership experience is highly desirable.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic tools.
• Knowledge of schematics, electrical systems, hydraulics, transmissions, HVAC systems, and vehicle maintenance procedures.
• Experience working with farm machinery, industrial equipment, excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, or similar machinery is preferred.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
• Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately.
• Valid driver's license with experience operating heavy machinery is a plus.
• Excellent customer service skills are beneficial for roles involving client interaction or on-site repairs.
