Sushi Station

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have some kitchen experience or culinary school. This role requires a deep understanding of food safety standards and the ability to follow recipes and procedures. The Sushi station cook will need to be a self starter. The schedule is 10 am to 8 pm Wednesday through Saturday. We have a set menu with set recipes.

Duties

• Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes, including rice bowls and rolls, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation.
• Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
• Manage inventory of sushi ingredients, ensuring freshness and quality at all times.
• Utilize proper knife skills for food preparation, ensuring precision in cutting fish and vegetables.
• Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with guests about menu items and making recommendations when needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is required.
• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices within the kitchen.
• Proficient knife skills with an understanding of various cutting techniques.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• A passion for the culinary arts, particularly Japanese cuisine, is highly desirable.
