Job Overview:
Are you passionate about education and making a difference in the lives of children? We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated After School Program Staff to join our dynamic team As an After School Program Staff at Middle Tree, you will have the opportunity to inspire and support students in their academic journey, helping them reach their full potential. This role is perfect for individuals who are energetic, compassionate, and eager to contribute to a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently lead a group of up to 20 students in a classroom setting, maintaining high standards for behavior and safety through the implementation of PBIS behavior management strategies.
- Lead by example and be a positive role model for students in the program.
- Provide homework assistance and academic enrichment, using curriculum provided according to program lesson plans.
- Create a fun, engaging, and inclusive environment that encourages a sense of psychological safety and belonging.
- Assist with daily snack preparation, serving, and clean-up.
- Assist in daily set up and clean up to ensure the school site is clean and orderly.
- Communicate collaboratively with Site Leads and school administrators to discuss student needs and any concerns.
- Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance tutoring skills and educational strategies.
- Assist with administrative tasks related to the after-school program as needed, such as maintaining attendance records and preparing materials.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in education or a related field preferred.
- 48 completed college credits or ability to pass a basic skills assessment (REQUIRED).
- Previous experience working with TK-8 children in an educational or tutoring setting (REQUIRED) .
- Knowledge of academic subjects, enrichment activities, SEL, and PBIS.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed.
- Program start and end times are roughly between 12:45 PM - 6:15 PM Monday-Friday.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to undergo a background check and obtain necessary clearances as required by state regulations.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and engage in activities with students for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move up to 20-50 pounds as needed.
