Our data exploitation approach is tightly integrated with Human-Centered Design and DevSecOps./ph3Contributions/h3pWe are looking for a seasoned Data Administrator to work with our team and our clients to architect and develop data models, data warehouses, lakes, and lakehouses, data governance, services, and pipelines. We are looking for a more than just a Database Administrator, we are looking for a technologist with excellent communication and customer service skills and a passion for data and problem solving. Responsibilities include:/pulliLead and architect migration of data environments with performance and reliability/liliExperience in crafting database / data warehouse solutions in cloud (Preferably AWS. Alternatively Azure, GCP.)/liliHelping build the structure and design of the database/liliImplementing security measures for the data/liliControlling access to the database/liliBuilding different environments for development, testing, and production/liliMerging and migrating data when necessary/liliUpdating and patching systems to maintain compliance/liliDesigning and implementing data backups/liliRestoring lost data/liliContinually monitoring database systems/liliKey must have skill sets - database management/liliSupport an Agile software development lifecycle/liliYou will contribute to the growth of our Data Exploitation Practice!/li/ulh3Qualifications/h3pRequired:/pulliAbility to hold a position of public trust with the US government./liliBachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a scientific or technical discipline./lili8+ years of total experience./lili5+ years of experience in database administration, information technology, database architecture, or a related field./liliDemonstrated hands-on experience as a SQL Server DBA in a production environment./liliStrong knowledge of SQL Server internals, indexing, query optimization, and performance testing./liliExperience implementing and supporting SQL Server Always On Availability Groups, clustering, replication, and log shipping./liliHands-on experience with SQL Server monitoring tools/liliDemonstrated on-the-job experience with large-scale data migration./liliDemonstrated on-the-job experience designing storage and retrieval solutions for both structured and unstructured data, in support of data science pipelines./liliStrong command of SQL tools./liliAdvanced knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards./liliUnderstanding of relational and dimensional data modeling./liliPowerShell and Unix shell scripting skills./liliImpeccable attention to detail./liliDemonstrated experience working with SQL and relational databases, query development and optimization (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases, such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and others./liliExperience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases./liliFamiliarity with cloud technology, using AWS or Azure. Knowledge of managed service offerings (e.g. AWS EC2, EMR, RDS, Redshift) and demonstrated experience delivering in a cloud environment./liliDemonstrated on-the-job experience supporting the development of related data artifacts:/liulliData Dictionary/liliEntity Relationship Diagrams/liliData Flow Diagram/liliData Quality Plan/liliData Management Plan/liliData Asset Catalog/li/ulliExperience working in a DevSecOps environment, utilizing CI/CD best practices./liliDemonstrated on-the-job experience developing specifications for modern large-scale data repositories including development of specifications for cloud-based database solutions./liliDemonstrated experience collaborating with staff, IT customers, and other technical and non-technical staff and contractors at all levels./liliDemonstrated experience working in an agile environment and leading agile projects./li/ulpPreferred:/pulliMicrosoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate/li/ulh3About Steampunk/h3pSteampunk relies on several factors to determine salary, including but not limited to geographic location, contractual requirements, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $115,000 to $135,000. The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position. Annual salary is just one aspect of Steampunks total compensation package for employees.
