Position Overview:
The Electrical & Instrumentation Supervisor is responsible for leading the Electrical & Instrumentation function to improve site productivity, reliability, and efficiency by contributing to the design, construction, commissioning and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation systems and machines of the mine site. The Electrical and Instrumentation Supervisor is responsible for leading the daily activities for a team of technicians in the areas of safety, quality, and maintenance for all equipment.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Plans, assigns, and directs work associated with the safe and efficient production and maintenance of mining, milling, and processing equipment.
  • Perform examinations of work areas and monitor compliance with MSHA regulations and company policies.
  • Supervise major equipment setup, dismantling, and repair plans and procedures.
  • Assist in the development and supervision of technical training programs.
  • Assist with designing electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for industrial purposes.
  • Assist in developing applications of controls, instruments, and systems for new industrial uses.
  • Direct and coordinate operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems in field installations.
  • Directs activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction installation, and operational testing conform to functions specifications and customer requirements.
  • Process documentation for compliance with health, safety, and environmental compliance.

Basic Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of experience as a supervisor in an industrial environment. (Mining, chemical plant, power plant)
  • Experience in Industrial Plant Electrical Design, Maintenance, and Operations experience.
  • Experience with high DC voltage distribution systems.
  • A Valid Driver's License to drive company vehicles on and off property.

Desired Qualities:
  • Strong knowledge of applicable Codes and Industry Specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and safety system design in a chemical operating facility.
  • Strong communication skills, interpersonal skills/ability to work within a team.

(PPE) Personal Protective Equipment is required when performing work in a mine, manufacturing, outdoor, or plant environment. Required PPE may include, but is not limited to, hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves, and any other protective equipment as required.
Working Conditions - Our facility sits at an elevation of 4,700 feet. Employees may be subject to extreme weather conditions when working in an outdoor setting (heat and cold, wind). Work is at an open pit mine or manufacturing/chemical plant setting, which may include exposure to moving mechanical parts, toxic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, explosives, fumes, or airborne particles.
Physical Demands -Manual dexterity; sense of touch; sense of smell; speaking clearly; hearing-speech range; hearing - all ranges; seeing, reading and comprehensions; seeing - distant/near; depth perception; color vision. While performing the job responsibilities, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to stand and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel and to manipulate laboratory equipment. The employee is occasionally required to walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Employees must pass a full-face respiratory fit test. Employees must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must be able to work in PPE level C.
