Sales Assistant, Commercial Lines
Heffernan Insurance Brokers is looking for a Sales Assistant to join its Portland, OR Commercial Lines team. This primary function of this position is to assist Producers with the development and implementation of new business research, marketing, and other approaches to increase sales productivity. Heffernan provides a career path with ample opportunity for upward mobility. This position will work out of the Portland, OR office. Responsibilities Include: Coordinate and maintain appointment calendar. Coordinate meetings and events with external and internal personnel. Maintain confidentiality of all duties assigned by Producer. Submit monthly expense reports for Producers, or as necessary. Maximize the use of Sales and other software platforms as necessary. Prepare claims analysis reports. Gather underwriting information and assist with carrier submissions. Assist in completing new business applications and accords. New business marketing to include: Develop, cross reference, and research prospect lists Emphasis on x-dates, carrier, broker, number of employees, number of locations, decision makers, and more necessary information Upload prospects, and help manage Sales data base Outreach management and email campaigns Help manage mailers, in-person, and other marketing campaigns Help plan routes for drop-offs Other duties and special projects as assigned. Requirements: Education
High School graduate/GED required. Must have experience working in a team environment. Minimum of 1-2 years working in an office environment. Insurance experience preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) Must be organized and able to manage time, and multiple projects effectively. Must embody the Heffernan Habits as illustrated herein. Compensation: The salary range for this position is $50,000 to $60,000. The offer will depend on the geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program.
