Telecommunications Technician
Pay: $ $37.00 per hour
Job description
NETS USA is looking to hire Telecom Technicians to be assigned as subcontractors for one of the largest telecommunication providers in the US. Chosen candidates will be employed and paid by NETS USA and work on site with the telecommunication provider.

Key Responsibilities
Equipment Decommissioning & Removal
Conduct site surveys and audits
Perform network circuit grooms to completion that new circuit path is actively passing traffic
Be able to use CLI (Command Line Interface) on equipment management ports
Decommission telecommunication sites and infrastructure
Work inside maintenance windows if work is required
Remove coaxial cables, fiber optic cables, and associated hardware
Tag cabling disconnected from equipment and tie back to cable tray
Coordinate equipment disconnection with network operations to prevent service disruptions
Perform proper shutdown procedures for active equipment before removal
Test and verify fiber optic connections using OTDR and power meters
Asset Management & Documentation
Create detailed audit of all removed equipment and materials
Tag and track reusable equipment for return to warehouse or redistribution
Photograph sites before, during, and after decommissioning work
Complete work orders and site exit reports accurately and thoroughly
Coordination & Communication
Coordinate site access with property owners, landlords, and building managers
Schedule work to minimize disruption to co-located tenants
Communicate with project coordinators and management on project status
Report on safety concerns, site access issues, or unexpected conditions immediately
Communicate professionally with customers, landlords, and co-located tenants
Provide excellent customer service and maintain professional appearance
Coordinate with engineers and project managers
Schedule work efficiently to meet customer commitments
Technical Skills
Understanding of electrical systems and proper disconnection procedures
Ability to read and interpret site drawings and technical specifications
Familiarity with copper, fiber optic and coaxial cable systems
Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, etc.)
Knowledge of test equipment (OTDR, power meter, cable certifier, multimeter)
Basic networking knowledge (TDM, DWDM, SONET, IP addressing, Ethernet, routing)
Familiar with various telecommunications standards and protocols

Physical Demands

Schedule & Travel
Full-time position with variable hours based on project needs
Overtime, weekends, and holiday work may be required
Travel required
May require overnight stays for multi-day projects or distant locations
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of telecommunications field experience
Experience with multiple technologies (wireless, fiber, copper, DWDM, SONET, Routers, DACS, Switches, etc.)
Multi-carrier experience (AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Lumen, etc.)
Experience with asset recovery and inventory management
Work Location
All work locations will be on-site and will vary based on the location and duration of each project. If hired, candidates can expect worksite locations to change week to week.
Most worksite locations are in Colorado and Minnesota. The subcontractor will assist employees with travel and lodging costs associated with accessing assigned worksites. Details to be discussed during the interview process as specifics will vary based on the location of the candidate and the worksite locations.
Candidates outside of Colorado and Minnesota are encouraged to apply . Travel expenses will be covered if necessary.
All candidates should be expected to travel and stay at worksites for one to two weeks at a time based on need.
Pay
Hourly rates for candidates will vary based on experience level. The expected pay range for the role will be between $32.00 and $37.00 per hour.
Job Type
Candidates chosen for this role will be hired as 1099 contractors. Further details about the setup and expectations for 1099 contractors will be discussed during the interview process.
