Location: Hamilton, NJ
Job Description:
We seek a trustworthy and reliable individual to join our team as a key holder. As the keeper of the keys, you will be responsible for opening and closing the store, as well as handling customer service-related tasks. This position is responsible for opening and closing the store and performing other duties in the absence of management. You will assist teammates in high-volume periods and support new employees. In addition, you will ensure the store is clean and organized. If you are team-focused, punctual, and ready to take your retail career to the next level, you could be an excellent fit for the key holder position. Key holders should be flexible with their schedules and willing to be on call. They should ensure that the store is clean and organized, assist cashiers during periods of high customer volume, identify problems with working conditions, and report them to management.
Store Expectations & Core Responsibilities:
- Opening & Closing Duties: Abide by precise security protocols for alarm and system management. Handle cash, deposits, and ensure registers are appropriately secured.
- Store Presentation & Visual Standards: Maintain a store that looks "Grand-Opening ready." Adhere to company visual merchandising guidelines, including daily floor replenishment, markdowns, and fixture standards
- Customer Service Leadership: Deliver exceptional guest experiences. Address questions, complaints, and escalated situations with professionalism and empathy.
- Staff Support & Mentorship: Assist during high-volume periods, train and mentor new employees, and delegate responsibilities when managing the floor
- Operations & Inventory Management: Support POS transactions, stock transfers, and inventory counts. Flag discrepancies and communicate them promptly to management
- Security & Loss Prevention: Enforce loss prevention procedures. Monitor for suspicious activity, secure company assets, and follow all safety and ethical standards outlined in your handbook.
- Policy Adherence & Reporting: Stay current on all company policies, ensure they're upheld during your shift, and communicate operational concerns proactively
Store Policies & Expectations:
- Access Control: Only authorized Keyholders should be present during opening/closing.
- Key Handling & Accountability: Keys must be kept secure at all times. Avoid leaving them at the register or taking them off-premise. Shared key arrangements must follow store procedures.
- Schedule Flexibility & Transportation Reliability: Must be available for early/late shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call needs. Reliable transportation (or backup plan) is essential—the manager's reliability often hinges on this.
- Safe Deposit Procedures: You'll handle deposit prep—till counts, safe drops, and paperwork—ensuring everything is balanced and accurate before completing banking tasks.
- Workload & Well-Being: While elevated responsibility is expected, it's not a license for burnout. The role should come with commensurate support and compensation, avoiding unsustainable workload or unsafe expectations.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 3+ years of retail or supervisory experience
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency (POS systems, inventory tracking tools)
- Detail-oriented, reliable, with a professional and friendly demeanor
- Flexible availability (early/late shifts, weekends, holidays)
- Reliable transportation (within a 15-mile radius preferred)
- Aptitude for leadership and advancement
