+ Other... QUALIFICATIONS: - Hold current Indiana State license as a Registered Nurse.
- Current certification in CPR
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of current practices for common childhood illnesses and chronic diseases: asthma management, diabetes, insulin pen and pumps, seizure management
- Ability to perform skilled nursing care such as catheterization, suctioning, gastrostomy tube feedings, insulin administration, insulin pump skills and nebulizer treatments
- Computer skills
- Must be able to pass criminal background and DCS check
- Degree in nursing or related field
- Experience in pediatric and/or community or public health nursing
- Prior experience in school nursing, or acute care setting
- Administers medications and treatments as ordered.
- Provides care for student and staff illness and accidents.
- Administers care based on individual health care plans and individual emergency care plans.
- Serves as liaison between the home and the school regarding student health concerns.
- Documents all encounters.
- Follows communicable disease control procedures and informs administration and/or parents regarding school exclusion and readmission.
PRIMARY ROLE: To provide primary health and emergency care to students, promote wellness and serve as a resource for health concerns in the school setting. RESPONSIBILITIES:
