Job Description:

Schedule: Full Time 40 hours

Location: Float to multiple locations in Orlando

• Prepares and distributes medications in a timely manner.
• Collects patient information and explains any insurance changes or complications.
• Ensures pharmacists are aware of patient needs and prescription checks.
• Assures orders are processed, dispensed and delivered accurately and promptly.
• Assists in billing processes and maintains knowledge of insurance changes.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• One year of pharmacy technician experience, in a retail pharmacy, mail-order pharmacy, central fill, or hospital setting OR completion of a pharmacy technician student internship at AdventHealth in a retail or hospital setting, in lieu of pharmacy technician experience. (Required)
• Competent in medical terminology, medication names and medication use (Preferred)
• Proficient with prescription-filling software and other computer skills (Preferred)
• Ability to work under pressure (Preferred)
• Ability to interact professionally with public and other medical staff (Preferred)

Education:

• High School Grad or Equiv (Required)

Field of Study:

• N/A

Work Experience:

• 3+ retail pharmacy experience (Preferred)
• Experience processing and filling prescriptions (Preferred)

• Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT) (Required)
• PTCB Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) (Preferred) OR NHA Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) (Preferred)
