Clinic Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Clinical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting medical staff and ensuring that patients receive high-quality care in a fast-paced clinical environment. This position is essential for maintaining the efficiency of our operations and preparing our eye care patients to see the doctors.

Duties

• Assist healthcare professionals in providing patient care, including preparing patients for examinations and procedures.
• Administer medications as prescribed (eye drops).
• Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring all medical terminology is correctly documented.
• Support the clinical and administrative teams when it comes to scheduling patients, rooming patients, and gathering patient data.
• Facilitate communication between patients and medical staff to enhance patient experience.
• Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring they are clean and well-stocked with necessary supplies.
• Order clinical supplies and maintain inventory.
• Assist with basic clinical procedures as needed.

Skills

• Proficient understanding of medical terminology or a quick learner with medical terminology.
• Experience or familiarity with the clinic patient care process.
• Knowledge of geriatric care practices is preferred.
• Ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
• Able to work independently and have a drive to take initiative as needed to perform job duties without constant supervision.
• Strong communication skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with healthcare standards.
• Ability to learn in a hybrid format which includes online, in person, classroom and hands-on instruction.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems is advantageous.
• Fluency with learning new computer programs and switching between multiple programs.
