SME Careers is seeking a skilled Kotlin Engineer to support AI data quality and software evaluation initiatives. In this remote, contract-based role, you will review and improve Kotlin code and technical explanations, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and adherence to best practices.

This role is suitable for engineers with experience in Android development or backend services who enjoy code analysis, architectural reasoning, and producing clear technical documentation.

• Review and evaluate Kotlin code and technical explanations
• Analyze problem-solving approaches and step-by-step reasoning
• Identify issues related to null safety, coroutines, architecture, or implementation logic
• Ensure solutions follow idiomatic Kotlin standards and sound design principles
• Write clear explanations and reference solutions demonstrating correct Kotlin usage
• Compare and assess multiple solutions for correctness, clarity, and reasoning quality
• Create structured prompts and responses to support technical content development
• Verify technical accuracy and real-world applicability of solutions
• Review outputs for consistency, reliability, and overall quality

• 2+ years of hands-on experience with Kotlin
• Strong understanding of Kotlin features such as null safety, coroutines, and functional patterns
• Professional experience using Kotlin for Android applications or backend services
• Ability to review code style, design decisions, and architectural trade-offs
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools with careful validation of outputs
• Strong written English communication skills
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
• Detail-oriented approach to technical review and documentation

• Experience with Ktor, Android Jetpack, or advanced coroutine usage
• Familiarity with mobile or backend software architecture
• Contributions to open-source Kotlin projects
• Experience with large-scale code review, technical evaluation, or documentation
• Background in AI data training or model evaluation work
