Montana Group of Companies Ltd. is a successful, fast-growing flatbed-oriented transportation company operating 150+ trucks across North America. We are currently seeking a reliable and detail-oriented ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT to join our team.

Position Overview

The Accounts Assistant will support the accounting department with day-to-day financial operations related to trucking and transportation services. This role involves handling invoicing, accounts payable/receivable, record keeping, and supporting financial reporting while working closely with operations and dispatch teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process customer invoices for completed loads.
  • Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable, including follow-ups and reconciliations.
  • Verify driver pay, fuel charges, tolls, and load-related expenses.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
  • Enter and update data in accounting and transportation management systems.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end accounting tasks.
  • Communicate with customers, brokers, and internal teams regarding billing and payment inquiries.
  • Support audits and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Perform general administrative and accounting support duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as an Accounts Assistant or Accounting Clerk (transportation or trucking industry experience is an asset).
  • Knowledge of accounts payable/receivable processes.
  • Experience with QuickBooks or other accounting software preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Training will be provided for the right candidate.

Work Environment

  • In-person role at our Bolton, ON office.
  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
