We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team in Washington, D.C. This role is critical to the efficient movement of goods within our distribution center. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts, including sit-down, stand-up, and reach trucks, to load, unload, and move materials throughout the facility. You will also be tasked with stacking and retrieving inventory, ensuring accurate placement, and maintaining organized storage areas. Adherence to all **safety** protocols and proper use of **PPE** is paramount in this position. This role requires strong attention to detail, good spatial awareness, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced **logistics** environment.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts to transport materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks and containers.
- Move and stack inventory efficiently.
- Inspect forklift equipment daily for safety and operational issues, reporting any defects.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock checks as needed.
- Adhere to all company **safety** policies and procedures.
- Wear all required **PPE** at all times.
- Participate in **safety** training sessions.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Ability to perform **Lifting** up to 50 lbs.
- Understanding of warehouse operations and **logistics**.
- Excellent **safety** record and awareness.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime as needed.
