We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler to join our team in the historic city of Boston, Massachusetts. This role is fundamental to our warehouse operations, involving the movement, organization, and preparation of materials for various stages of the logistics process. You will be responsible for receiving goods, stocking inventory, fulfilling orders, and preparing shipments. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. Your accuracy and diligence in handling materials will directly impact our supply chain's effectiveness. We place a high priority on safety and expect all team members to utilize the provided PPE and follow all established procedures. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in warehouse management and logistics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and inspect incoming materials for damage and accuracy.
- Stock inventory in appropriate locations, ensuring proper rotation.
- Pick and pack items for outgoing orders accurately and efficiently.
- Prepare shipments, including labeling and staging.
- Operate manual material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and dollies.
- Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the warehouse.
- Follow all company safety guidelines and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Perform manual Lifting of items up to the designated weight limit, using safe techniques.
- Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation as directed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, distribution, or material handling role is preferred.
- Ability to perform regular Lifting and physical tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to all operational protocols.
- Familiarity with basic logistics concepts is beneficial.
