We are looking for an experienced and motivated Warehouse Supervisor to lead our team in the New York City, New York facility. This leadership position is vital to overseeing daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and safety within our logistics hub. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of warehouse management best practices, and a proven ability to manage a team effectively. You will be responsible for supervising staff, optimizing workflows, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with all safety regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead a team of warehouse associates, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
- Oversee all daily warehouse operations, including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping.
- Develop and implement efficient workflows and processes to maximize productivity and minimize errors in the logistics operations.
- Ensure accurate inventory management through regular cycle counts, audits, and system updates.
- Enforce all company safety policies and procedures, conducting regular safety training and ensuring proper use of PPE by all team members.
- Manage staff scheduling, assignments, and workload distribution to meet operational demands.
- Investigate and resolve operational issues and customer complaints related to warehouse activities.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment, identifying and mitigating potential hazards.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement and customer service, to ensure seamless operations.
- Analyze performance metrics and identify areas for improvement in warehouse efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is a plus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control principles.
- Excellent understanding of logistics and supply chain operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks as needed.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and the proper use of PPE.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.
