We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Distribution Center Associate to join our dynamic team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. As a key member of our logistics operations, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks essential to the efficient flow of goods through our warehouse. Your role will involve receiving, stocking, picking, packing, and shipping products while adhering to strict safety protocols. Responsibilities:
- Accurately receive incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders, and report any discrepancies.
- Organize and stock merchandise in designated warehouse locations using appropriate equipment.
- Efficiently pick customer orders using RF scanners or pick sheets, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Safely pack orders for shipment, selecting appropriate packaging materials to prevent damage.
- Prepare outgoing shipments, including labeling, manifesting, and staging for carrier pickup.
- Operate material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks and forklifts, safely and efficiently (certification may be provided).
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all housekeeping standards.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Participate in inventory counts and audits as needed.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding workload and any issues encountered.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous warehouse or distribution experience preferred.
- Ability to perform manual tasks, including frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Basic math and reading skills.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to guidelines.
- Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift for extended periods.
