Seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist in Indianapolis, Indiana, to manage and maintain the accuracy of our warehouse inventory. This vital role ensures that our stock levels are precise, supporting efficient logistics operations and minimizing discrepancies. You will be responsible for implementing and overseeing inventory control procedures, conducting regular cycle counts, investigating and resolving stock adjustments, and maintaining accurate inventory records using our warehouse management system (WMS). A strong understanding of inventory management principles and practices is essential. You will play a key part in optimizing stock flow and ensuring product availability. Safety is a top priority; you must be knowledgeable about and adhere to all safety regulations, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when performing tasks. While this role is more focused on accuracy and analysis, occasional lifting may be required, so a basic level of physical capability is necessary. This position requires excellent analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a meticulous approach to data entry and reconciliation. You will collaborate with warehouse staff and management to identify and implement process improvements that enhance inventory accuracy and operational efficiency. Responsibilities:
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the WMS
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and recommend improvements
- Implement and enforce inventory control policies and procedures
- Ensure proper storage and organization of inventory items
- Report on inventory levels and variances to management
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE
