Overview We are currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a well‑established engineering and manufacturing company based in Sheffield. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of products in various industries.
Key Responsibilities
Design mechanical components, assemblies, and machinery using SolidWorks.
Produce detailed 2D fabrication drawings and 3D models.
Design sheet metal components and welded fabrications to manufacturing standards.
Support machinery and automotive design projects from concept through to manufacture.
Liaise with fabrication and production teams to ensure designs are practical and cost effective.
Generate BOMs and technical documentation.
Support prototype builds, testing and design improvements.
Skills and Experience Required
Strong experience using SolidWorks (essential).
Background in mechanical design within fabrication, machinery or automotive environments.
2 Years+ experience in Mechanical Design.
Good understanding of manufacturing processes.
Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
BSc / BEng qualified in Mechanical Engineering / Mechanical Design / Product Design Engineering or similar.
