Belcan’s Marine business unit is expanding, and we’re seeking experienced Senior Design Engineers to take ownership of complex and cutting-edge ship design projects within the defence sector. This is your opportunity to drive innovation, mentor junior engineers, and deliver engineering solutions that make a real impact. We are looking for your expertise to be within Outfit, Structural, Piping, or Electrical design to join our Naval team. Role Overview
As a Senior Design Engineer, you will lead the development of detailed engineering designs for marine systems and structures, ensuring technical excellence and compliance with project requirements. You’ll produce high-quality 2D and 3D outputs, provide guidance to multidisciplinary teams, and play a key role in integrating components and systems for naval vessels. Key Responsibilities
Lead design activities across Structural, Piping, Electrical, or Outfit disciplines Review and approve design outputs, ensuring accuracy and adherence to standards Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to meet delivery milestones Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering technical growth within the team Drive continuous improvement in design processes and methodologies Core Engineering Disciplines
Advanced modelling and drafting of bulkheads and decks Shell modelling and nesting Complex pipe routing and isometric drawings Electrical Engineering
Electrical system and component design Schematic analysis and cable management Cable segregation and load calculations Compartment layout and equipment integration Design of ship access and escape systems Specification of insulation, coatings, and deck coverings Why Join Belcan?
