Plastic Surgery PRN nurse

Job Summary

Duties

• Assist with pre-operative assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and patient education on procedure expectations.
• Prepare treatment areas with strict adherence to aseptic techniques and sterile processing protocols.
• Support physicians during procedures by managing instruments, maintaining sterile fields, and monitoring patient comfort.
• Monitor patients during recovery, managing acute pain and providing post-procedure instructions for optimal healing.
• Document all patient interactions accurately within electronic health record (EHR) ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Respond promptly to patient needs during outpatient visits, triaging concerns related to aesthetic or reconstructive procedures.

Qualifications

• Valid nursing license (RN) in good standing with current state licensure.
• Proven experience in medical-surgical nursing, outpatient clinics, or specialized aesthetic practices preferred.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and aseptic techniques.
• Critical care experience or ICU background is a plus for managing complex cases or acute pain management situations.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
