À propos

At Communities In Schools of Cape Fear (CIS), we surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. We strive to ensure every student, regardless of race, gender, ability, zip code, or socioeconomic background has what they need to realize their full potential in school and beyond.

Student Support Specialists work within their assigned school site during the school day to provide case-managed services to students identified as being at-risk of dropping out, or in need of specific intervention services. The Student Support Specialist links these students with resources and programs including mental health support, tutoring, attendance monitoring, mentoring, and afterschool programs.

At CIS of Cape Fear, we believe every child deserves these 5 Basics:

  1. A one-on-one relationship with a caring adult.

  2. A safe place to learn and grow.

  3. A healthy start and a healthy future.

  4. A marketable skill to use upon graduation.

  5. A chance to give back to peers and community.
