About The Role
As a Structural Engineer at KOA you will contribute to the planning and detailing of structural systems for industrial and commercial projects, supporting both new construction and modifications to existing facilities. The successful candidate will utilize their experience and expertise in the field to provide solutions to a diverse clientele that includes multinational industry leaders.
Essential Functions
- Analysis and design of structural systems and components
- Knowledge of building and non-building structures and systems
- Develop and review plans, details, calculations, and specifications appropriate to construct or fabricate systems to transmit structural loads
- Direct Engineers-in-Training and technicians in the preparation of proper documentation
- Site observations and inspection of construction projects
- Prepare reports and oral presentations for both internal and client use
- Maintain budget and deadlines to client satisfaction
- Work within multi-disciplinary terms in varying roles
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Professional Engineering license
- Five or more years of post-graduate experience in a structural engineering environment
- Proficiency in relevant structural engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Robot Structural Analysis, RISA, Bluebeam, Navisworks or Similar)
- Ability to effectively and respectfully communicate and interact with other employees, supervisors, individuals from other organizations, and clients
- Ability to travel throughout the U.S.A. (Anticipated travel not to exceed 25%)
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Desired Qualifications
- Professionally dedicated to delivering high-quality, well-organized documents to clients
- Knowledge of advanced structural engineering principles and practices applied to project design and construction
- Experienced user of 3D software such as Revit, Navisworks, etc.
- Consulting engineering experience
- Relevant project experience in heavy industrial projects such as manufacturing, mining, material handling, power generation, and/or oil & gas
Additional Skills & Capabilities
- Experience with interpretation, and application of structural design codes, standards, and guidelines
- Experience with commercial software packages
- Experience developing design packages and alternatives from concept to construction using AutoCAD or Revit software packages
- Demonstrated knowledge of project lifecycle and ability to manage complex engineering and multidiscipline projects in the context of structural design inputs and information requirements
What We Offer
- Annual base salary in the range of $80,000 – $120,000 per year depending on experience and qualifications
