About DayOne
At DayOne, we're building the digital infrastructure that powers the future — at scale and at pace. Our growth is fast, intentional, and driven by people who take ownership, work collaboratively, and are motivated by real impact.
As we continue to scale across regions, we're looking for an HR Generalist in the U.S. to help deliver a consistent, high-quality employee experience and support the foundations of a strong, modern people function.
The Role
This is a hands-on HR Generalist role supporting employees and managers across the U.S. You'll be close to the work — managing core HR operations, supporting employee relations, and helping ensure we operate compliantly and thoughtfully as we grow. It's a great role for someone who enjoys variety, cares about doing the basics well, and wants to grow with a scaling organization.
What You'll Be Doing
Core HR Operations
- Support onboarding, offboarding, and employee lifecycle changes
- Maintain accurate employee data and documentation in HR systems
- Act as a trusted first point of contact for day-to-day HR questions
Employee Experience & Relations
- Support employees and managers with policy guidance and people processes
- Assist with employee relations matters, documentation, and investigations under guidance
- Help ensure fair, consistent, and practical application of policies
Compliance & Governance
- Support compliance with U.S. federal, state, and local employment laws
- Assist with maintaining employee handbooks, policies, and standard processes
- Partner closely with Payroll and Benefits teams to ensure accuracy and consistency
Benefits & Leave Support
- Support benefits administration, enrollments, and employee queries
- Assist with leave administration including FMLA, medical, and parental leave
Building for Scale
- Support performance cycles, engagement initiatives, and people programs
- Contribute to process improvements as we grow and mature
- Assist with HR projects that strengthen how we work as an organization
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years' experience in an HR Generalist or HR Operations role
- Solid understanding of U.S. employment laws and HR fundamentals
- Experience working with an HRIS (Workday, ADP, BambooHR, or similar)
- High attention to detail and respect for confidentiality
- A practical, solutions-oriented mindset
- Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, scaling environment
- Experience supporting multi-state U.S. workforces
- Exposure to benefits or payroll coordination
Why DayOne
- Be part of a company building something meaningful from the ground up
- Work in a collaborative, low-ego, high-ownership environment
- Real exposure across the full HR lifecycle
- Opportunity to grow as the organization scales
