Job Description

The Director of Data Management will manage complex, cross‑functional projects that enable Visa's commercial data products. This includes planning, execution, risk management, and stakeholder communication for enhanced data and related initiatives. The role requires strong program governance skills, ability to drive clarity in ambiguous environments, and experience coordinating across global teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end‑to‑end project management of our enhanced data program and other assigned data initiatives, ensuring scope, timelines, and deliverables are met.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, RAID logs, and governance dashboards.
  • Facilitate steering committees, working groups, and stakeholder updates.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Data Platform teams to align priorities and dependencies.
  • Coordinate with Compliance, Communications, Regional Product, Risk, and Legal to ensure adherence to regulatory and Visa standards.
  • Drive process improvements for project governance and reporting.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and change‑management processes for data rules and workflows.
  • Communicate status, risks, and decisions clearly to senior leadership and cross‑functional teams.
  • Support onboarding and enablement for new data capabilities.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications :
12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
10 plus years of experience in project or program management, preferably in technology or data-driven environments.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Technology, related field or equivalent experience.
Proven ability to manage complex, multi‑stakeholder projects with global impact.
Demonstrated experience with integrating AI into routine work.
Project management experience at a software or technology company is highly preferred.
Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies - PMP or similar certification a plus.
