Overview
We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, manage appointment scheduling, and handle administrative tasks with efficiency and compassion. This role requires strong communication skills, familiarity with dental office systems, and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Prior experience in dental clinics is highly preferred to ensure seamless integration into our team.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and provide excellent customer service at the front desk
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments using dental practice management software, Eaglesoft
- Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility verification
- Collect payments and process billing through medical billing and coding procedures
- Review documentation for accuracy and completeness in patient records
- Manage multi-line phone systems, answer inquiries professionally, and maintain phone etiquette
- Maintain accurate dental records and ensure proper filing of patient documents
- Assist with patient intake procedures and prepare treatment plans as directed by clinicians
- Support administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and managing office supplies
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA standards and confidentiality protocols at all times
Skills
- Proficiency in dental office management software Eaglesoft
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology and insurance billing processes including Medicare
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing accuracy
- Exceptional customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Previous experience in a dental clinic is preferred; familiarity with clinic experience, administrative support, and office management is advantageous
