Job Summary
The primary purpose of the Assistant Clinical Director is to provide leadership, oversight, accountability, and direction for all mental health programs and operational functions, including those related to mental health and behavior management, in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards to ensure that the highest quality of care for our youth is maintained at all times. In addition, the Clinical Director is responsible for maintaining a treatment environment that reflects best practice standards.
Responsibilities and Duties
Essential Responsibilities and Expectations include but a re not limited to
- Facilitates Clinical Rounds weekly to oversee both regional areas Antelope Valley (4 facilities) and South Bay (4 facilities) Mental Health Team.
- Manages quality and effectiveness of service delivery through regular supervision and monitoring of client care documentation including assessments, care plans, outcome measures and progress notes.
- Maintain team productivity and billing expectations.
- Attends and participates in mandatory training and in-services, maintaining mandatory training hours as outlined by CCL and/or DMH
- Exhibits basic understanding of age-appropriate behavior for children/adolescents.
- Ensures timely and high-quality documentation of services by assigned staff in accordance with all agency and contractual requirements.
- Familiar with navigating an EHRS (Electronic Health Records System) such as EXYM
- Ensures confidentiality and maintenance of client records in compliance with HIPAA, Policies and Procedures and licensure regulations.
- Maintains knowledge of program standards and policies as developed by the agency, licensing and other governing bodies; develops personal and professional knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; bench marking state-of-the art practices; participating in in-service programs.
- Familiar with DCFS mandates and contract obligations in delivery of STRTP services and treatment plans highly desired
- Training in Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Seeking Safety and/or other Evidence Based Practices is highly desirable (although not required)
- Interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications and Skills
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (2 years post licensure) with prior supervisory experience.
- 3 years' experience working in a residential setting and/or with at-risk adolescent population.
- Strong clinical skills.
- Knowledge of crisis intervention, documentation, and multicultural and socio-economic issues.
- Some evening and field work will be required.
- Master's or doctoral degree in psychology, social work, child development, or a related field required.
- Current and valid licensure with Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) or Board of Psychology (BOP).
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must be physically and mentally fit to perform all duties.
- Must have a criminal record clearance and child abuse index clearance, required.
- Must have valid driver's license, required.
- Ability to interact and communicate both verbally and in writing to clients, other staff and to the general public.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100, $110,000.00 per year
