Electrician

Title: Electrician– Department of Public Works – Facilities Division
Job Type: Full-time
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 7AM-3:30PM
Salary: $35.60 /hour

The Town of Penfield is seeking a full-time licensed Electrician in our Department of Public Works - Facilities Division.

Typical work duties include but are not limited to:

• Building Facilities Maintenance: install, maintain and troubleshoot electrical system
• Public Safety Lighting Maintenance: streetlights and exterior lighting in public parks and parking lots
• Sewer Maintenance: electric motors, pumps and control panels in pump stations
• Facilities Team Member: assist Facilities department in non-electrical duties such as minor building repairs, and snow and ice removal.

Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus two (2) years paid full-time or part-time equivalent electrical experience at the journeyman level.

Full Performance Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics: Good knowledge of the installations, operation, maintenance and repair of electrical components of lighting, heating, ventilation, refrigeration, communication and security systems used where assigned; good knowledge of the common practices, electrical hardware, terminology and safety precautions of the trade; good knowledge of circuit theory and its applications; good knowledge of the health and safety regulations of the trade including OSHA; working knowledge of mechanical drawings; ability to kneel, bend, twist, crouch and crawl; ability to work outside, and in cramped awkward locations; ability to work from various schematics and blueprints of the equipment; ability to work independently; ability to communicate orally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships; ability to understand and follow oral instructions; manual dexterity; good judgement; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.

Valid and Clean NYS Driver License is required.

Electrician's License required. Master Electrician's License preferred.
