Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and detail-oriented Floor Care Technician Lead to join our growing team. This role is a hands-on leadership position, responsible for performing high-quality commercial floor care services while leading and directing on-site jobs. The ideal candidate has strong technical floor-care knowledge, can work independently, and is comfortable overseeing projects, coordinating tasks, and ensuring work is completed to company standards.
This position offers varying hours each week, and flexibility is important, as scheduling may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, or project-based work as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and perform commercial floor care services on job sites, ensuring quality, efficiency, and professionalism
- Execute specialized floor care procedures including buffing, stripping, waxing, scrubbing, sealing, final cleans, and carpet cleaning
- Direct and assist other technicians on-site, assigning tasks and ensuring work is completed correctly and on schedule
- Conduct walk-throughs before and after jobs to identify floor conditions, scope requirements, and quality standards
- Operate and maintain floor care equipment such as auto scrubbers, buffers, burnishers, extractors, and vacuums
- Safely use and handle cleaning chemicals, following proper dilution ratios and manufacturer guidelines
- Ensure job sites are left clean, organized, and ready for client use
- Communicate clearly with management regarding job progress, challenges, supply needs, and scheduling
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA-related guidelines
Requirements
- Prior experience in commercial floor care preferred (lead or supervisory experience preferred)
- Strong knowledge of various floor types (VCT, LVT/LVP, tile, concrete, carpet) and proper maintenance methods
- Ability to lead on-site projects and work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience operating professional floor care equipment
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship
- Strong time-management and organizational skills
- Physically capable of performing manual labor, including lifting and moving equipment
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to job sites
- Flexible availability, including nights or weekends when required
