Bytes and Bots is a hands-on STEM education company based in Irvine, CA. We inspire the next generation of innovators through robotics, programming, game design, electronics, and engineering. Our students (K–12) learn by building and creating projects—from LEGO robotics battles to Python programming, Arduino electronics, and even game/app design. We are expanding our team and seeking passionate mentors who love both coding and teaching.

Position Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic Programming Teacher/Mentor who can guide students in coding, robotics, and creative technology projects. This role blends teaching, mentoring, and technical expertise. You'll lead after-school classes different elementary schools or middle school helping students grow their programming skills while fostering creativity and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Teach programming concepts using Python, Scratch, or block-based coding platforms (Minecraft Mods, game design, robotics programming, etc.).
• Mentor students in robotics and coding competitions (e.g., FIRST LEGO League, FTC, robotics battles).
• Adapt lessons for different age groups (elementary through high school).
• Provide a positive, encouraging environment that inspires curiosity and teamwork.
• Assist with preparing lesson materials, projects, and classroom setups.
• Communicate with parents and team members about student progress.

Qualifications

• Experience with Python, Scratch, Arduino, Unity, or Java is a plus.
• Prior teaching, tutoring, or mentoring experience (formal or informal).
• Passion for STEM education and inspiring young minds.
• Strong communication skills, patience, and creativity.
• Comfortable working with students ages 7–16.

Schedule & Pay

• After-school classes anytime after 1pm depending on school location.
• Part-time (6–20hrs/week)
• Pay: $18
